Marshall running back Rasheen Ali won’t play against Bowling Green Saturday, The Blade has learned.
Ali, the leading scorer in the FBS in 2021, had been photographed practicing this week leading up to the Thundering Herd’s second straight road game against the Falcons. It was his first time in uniform since announcing Aug. 23 that he would take a leave of absence from football for the foreseeable future.
The highly touted running back from Cleveland ran for 1,401 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2021 -— figures that ranked 10th and first in the FBS, respectively.
Without Ali, Marshall has maintained one of college football’s most prolific rushing offenses.
