BOWLING GREEN — A conference-only season by the Big Ten would leave Mid-American Conference schools like Toledo and Bowling Green with leverage in unfulfilled game contracts, legal experts say.
MAC teams were scheduled to play 11 games against Big Ten opposition in 2020, contests that will not happen after the Big Ten said it will not play non-conference games this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision directly affects both BG and UT, both of which now have openings on their schedules. The Falcons were scheduled to play both of their non-conference road games against Big Ten schools, first on Sept.
