Cleveland, Ohio – Eleven Bowling Green student-athletes have been named Distingushed Scholar-Athletes by the Mid-American Conference, following strong contributions in the field of competition during the fall and exemplary work in the classroom.
The conference's Faculty Athletic Representatives (FARs) vote for Distinguished Scholar-Athletes, who must have competed in at least 50 percent of their fall sport competitions and maintain a 3.50 grade point average or higher. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Among the 110 student-athletes named by the MAC across seven fall sports, BGSU redshirt senior cross country runner Rachel Walny was the only four-time honoree.
