CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2018 Hall of Fame class Friday, and three of the five honorees have ties to Northwest Ohio.
Among those elected to the MAC Hall of Fame are Bowling Green State University pitcher Orel Hershiser, University of Toledo women’s basketball standout Dana Drew-Shaw, and past BGSU president Carol Cartwright.
The other two athletes selected are Eastern Michigan quarterback Charlie Batch and Northern Illinois running back Michael Turner.
Hershiser was an All-MAC pitcher for the Falcons who won the 1988 Cy Young Award and pitched the Los Angeles Dodgers to a World Series title that year.
