KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Scot Loeffler was a few years ahead of himself Saturday, and the first-year Bowling Green coach blamed himself first and foremost after the Falcons lost 49-10 at Western Michigan.
The Broncos overran Bowling Green in the third quarter, but it was a first-half sequence that had Loeffler upset with himself.
The Falcons trailed a manageable 14-3 when they started a drive on their 18-yard line with 2:39 to go in the first half. Knowing the Broncos deferred possession until the second half, the Falcons aimed to cut into the lead then and there.
