BOWLING GREEN — Football coach Scot Loeffler agreed to take a pay cut of up to $100,000 as part of Bowling Green State University's efforts to mitigate its financial losses amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Loeffler, the school's highest-paid employee, agreed to a five-year, $2.6 million contract with Bowling Green after the conclusion of the 2018 football season that pays him a base salary of $525,000 per season.
According to an amendment to the contract that was obtained by The Blade, Loeffler — who declined to comment through a spokesman — agreed to a pay reduction of up to 20 percent, a decrease that would lower his salary to $425,000 for the fiscal year 2021.
