The Mid-American Conference series opener was played at Warren E. Steller Field.
After trailing by scores of 3-0 and 5-3, Bowling Green scored five runs in the sixth inning to take an 8-5 lead. However, Kent State went on to score 13 unanswered runs before the Falcons plated one in the ninth. KSU matched BGSU's five spot with a five-run seventh.
