BOWLING GREEN — In the fall of 1989, Michael Huger was a Bowling Green State University freshman branching out just like all first-year college students.
When the former Falcons point guard and some of his basketball teammates would go the rec center to play pickup hoops, there invariably were a handful of BG football players on the courts.
“The football players all want to be basketball players,” Huger joked.
Along the way, Huger met a young Falcons running back from Toledo, Zeb Jackson, and the two became fast friends. They roomed together during the summer, and instead of heading back to his native Harlem on fall break, Huger recalled spending Thanksgiving with the Jacksons.
