Injuries knock out two of BG's top players

BOWLING GREEN — Just a week into the season, injuries have struck for two of Bowling Green's top players — and two of their leanest position groups.

No. 1 running back Andrew Clair (shoulder) and top defensive end Karl Brooks (foot) both missed Tuesday night's game against Kent State at Doyt Perry Stadium due to injury.

Clair, a redshirt junior who has rushed for more than 1,700 yards in 27 career games, sustained the injury in Bowling Green's 38-3 loss at Toledo in the first game of the season.

He started the game, but did not carry the ball after the Falcons' first drive of the second half and subsequently was not able to fully practice in the short week before game No.
