CLEVELAND — Bowling Green is 40 minutes away from the NCAA tournament.
But to clinch the program’s first NCAA bid in 51 years tonight, the Falcons have a steep task: winning the season series against one of the best teams in Mid-American Conference history.
Buffalo won its 30th game Friday, becoming the first MAC team to do since Kent State advanced to the Elite Eight in 2002.
Both teams won on their home court during the regular season, setting up a rubber match in the final MAC game of the year at 7:30 p.m.
The Bulls, an 11-point favorite, will qualify for the NCAA tournament no matter what; the Falcons must win tonight to make the 68-team field.
