BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team gave Todd Simon a victory in his coaching debut with the Falcons as they cruised past Chicago State 70-41 in the season opener for both teams on Monday at the Stroh Center.
Junior guard Marcus Hill, an NJCAA all-American for Southern Union State Community College a year ago and one of nine transfers this season for BGSU, scored a game-high 18 points on 7 of 14 shooting. Rashaun Agee added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Arkansas Little Rock transfer D.J. Smith chipped in 10 points.
Da’Shawn Phillip pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds for the Falcons, who had a 47-38 advantage on the glass.
