MUNCIE, Ind. — Bowling Green State University fell behind Ball State by 20 points at halftime en route to a 76-61 loss to the Cardinals in a Mid-American Conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Worthen Arena.
BGSU (9-5, 3-1) had its three-game winning streak snapped, while Ball State (14-2, 4-0) notched its eighth straight victory.
Junior guard Amy Velasco scored a game- and career-high 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting to lead BGSU. Paige Kohler chipped in 18 points and six rebounds while freshman Keiryn McGuff snatched a game-best 11 rebounds.
Six different Ball State players scored at least eight points in a balanced offensive effort.
