MINNEAPOLIS — Perhaps Bowling Green’s defense is better than originally imagined.
For the third consecutive week, BGSU’s defense caused good trouble on their opponent’s first possession, aiding in stalling a would-be scoring drive and helping swinging momentum back to the brown and orange early.
BGSU trails Minnesota 3-0 following the first quarter, and the effort defensively has been impressive and the main reason why the 31½-point underdog Falcons are keeping it close.
The Falcons began the game with possession, but had to punt following a three-and-out. Minnesota got to the BG 31-yard line on its ensuing drive, and with a 3rd and 8, Falcons linebacker Brock Horne sacked QB Tanner Morgan for an 8-yard loss, forcing a punt.
