Game day updates: Bowling Green 0, Western Michigan 0 — 2nd quarter

BOWLING GREEN — Here are updates from Wednesday’s college football game between Western Michigan and Bowling Green. This story will be updated following each quarter.

FIRST QUARTER

Bowling Green won the coin toss and deferred its choice to the second half. Western Michigan immediately moved to establish the run, sending running back Sean Tyler for a 15-yard gain on its first scrimmage play. The Broncos flamed out on their next set of downs and punted. The Falcons responded with a pair of first downs but stalled near midfield and punted.

Continuing its success in recent weeks, Bowling Green’s defense stifled Western Michigan into a three-and-out on its next drive behind a third-down tackle for loss from senior inside linebackers Darren Anders and DJ Taylor.
