Former BGSU quarterback Doege looks primed for big year at West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia football team has built its offense around former Bowling Green State University quarterback Jarret Doege.

Doege is set for his third season with the Mountaineers after leaving Bowling Green in May of 2019. Last season, Doege passed for 2,587 yards with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in 10 games. His 258.7 passing yards per game ranked second in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler, while his completion percentage (63) ranked third.

“He’s probably our most improved player in the offseason,” West Virginia coach Neal Brown said at Big 12 media days.
