BOWLING GREEN — The story of Bowling Green women’s basketball the past two seasons can be conveniently subdivided into two parts: life with junior guard Lexi Fleming, and life without her.

During the 2020-21 season, life with Fleming was full of promise. The Cincinnati native burst on to the scene as a freshman, averaging 15.9 points per game and garnering Mid-American Conference freshman of the year honors. The Falcons went 21-8, won the MAC regular-season title, reached the final of the league tournament, and won a game in the WNIT.

The Falcons were picked second and collected first-place votes in the MAC’s 2021-22 preseason poll.
