BOWLING GREEN — Lexi Fleming scored 21 of her team-high 25 points in the first quarter in leading Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team to an 84-61 Mid-American Conference victory over Kent State on Wednesday at the Stroh Center.
BGSU won for the eighth time in its last 10 games to improve to 17-12 overall (10-7 MAC). Kent State dropped to 19-11 (11-6).
Fleming scored BGSU’s first seven points and assisted on a Paige Kohler basket as the Falcons quickly took a 9-0 lead in the opening minutes. The Falcons led 24-7 with 3:12 left in the frame after Kohler’s transition 3-pointer, 30-18 entering the second, and 46-29 at halftime.
