BOWLING GREEN — After losing its most recent regular-season game, Bowling Green wasted no time returning to the win column.
The No. 8 Falcons scored four first-period goals and coasted to a 5-1 series-opening win against Northern Michigan on Friday at Slater Family Ice Arena.
NMU's No. 1 goaltender, Nolan Kent, will not be available this weekend, and the Falcons (13-2) took full advantage of the change on Friday. BG erupted in the first period, scoring four times at even strength.
Goals by Max Johnson, Chrystopher Collin, and Evan Dougherty led the Wildcats (2-7) to pull starter Connor Ryckman after just seven shots, but the change didn't seem to matter.
