BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team hit the century mark for the first time in over 17 years, downing Notre Dame College, 100-48, Sunday afternoon (Dec. 12) at the Stroh Center.
Freshman Amy Velasco scored a game-high 19 points – all in the first half – to pace five double-digit scorers for the (BGSU) Falcons, who improve to 3-4 on the young season.
BGSU scored 38 points in the second quarter, capped by Velasco's length-of-the-court drive and layup in the final seconds, to take a 61-23 lead into the intermission, and the hosts were never headed.
