The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team has been picked to capture both the Mid-American Conference regular-season and tournament titles this season. The 2019 preseason poll, the result of voting by the conference's 12 head coaches, was released by the league office on Monday morning (Aug. 19).
Head coach Matt Fannon's club garnered totals of 139 points and eight first-place votes to outdistance Ball State in the preseason poll. BGSU and BSU finished first and second, respectively, in the final regular-season standings a year ago, then met in the conference tournament final. In that match, the teams battled to a 1-1 draw before the Falcons captured the crown via penalty kicks.
