BOWLING GREEN — For Matt Johnson, the waiting is over.
The former Bowling Green State University quarterback now knows the next step in his football career after signing a free-agent contract with Cincinnati on Saturday.
But Johnson said signing with the Bengals was the final step in a long, some times unnerving, process.
“People who have gone through this before told me to enjoy it,” Johnson said in a phone interview Sunday. “But the whole day is filled with things you can’t control. You just have to hope the phone rings and stay positive.
“But it is nerve-wracking.
