Falcons get embarrassed at home by D-II’s Malone

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team will enter Mid-American Conference play in the worst possible manner.

The Falcons suffered a 78-65 loss to Malone, a Division II school, at the Stroh Center Wednesday.

To make matters worse, BG struggled on defense in the first half, then struggled with its shooting in the second half to end nonconference play with a 4-8 record.

It was BG’s first loss to a non-Division I team since an 86-57 loss to Saginaw Valley at Anderson Arena in 1984.

“It’s kind of hard to handle, but they are a good D-II school,” senior Ashley Tunstall said of the loss.
