BOWLING GREEN — Losing a senior who is a three-year starter is a debilitating loss to any football team.
So do not misunderstand: The knee injury that will sideline senior offensive tackle Jacob Bennett for the start of the 2016 season is a setback for the Bowling Green State University football team.
“As a coach, you hurt to see that kind of thing happen,” BG coach Mike Jinks said. “These guys bust their tails in the spring and summer to get ready, and they develop bonds with one another.
“It just stinks when they don’t have the chance to go out there.
