The Falcons football team defeated the Akron Zips 38-28 on Wednesday night to earn their first Mid-American Conference victory of the season.
"It was good to end up on the right part of one of those close ballgames," Falcons head coach Mike Jinks said. "I'm proud of the kids, any time you go on the road and get a win against a team that's fighting for their bowl eligibility, it says a lot."
The scoring began with Fred Coppet rushing for a touchdown late in the first quarter and Jake Suder's extra point putting the team up 7-0.
