KENT, Ohio — Three possessions at the end of the first half summed up the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team’s 70-54 loss at Kent State Tuesday.
The Falcons trailed by three points, and they had the ball with 1:23 left. But Ismail Ali missed an ill-advised jumper, which led to a fast-break 3-pointer by Galal Cancer, and Rasheed Worrell missed a baseline jumper at the buzzer.
Instead of cutting further into the deficit or perhaps taking the lead, Bowling Green frittered away its chance — and got blown out in the second half.
“I don’t even know what to say,” an exasperated BG coach Michael Huger said afterwards.
