The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team got the 2018 campaign started on a successful note, downing the University of Detroit Mercy by a 2-0 final on Wednesday evening (Aug. 8). The scrimmage was held at Cochrane Stadium.
A total of 26 different players saw action for head coach Matt Fannon's Falcons, who controlled play and had the lion's share of possession on the night. The teams played three 30-minute periods, and after a scoreless first frame, the home side got on the board quickly in the second period.
Just 48 seconds after the period began, senior Erica Hubert gave the Brown and Orange the lead.
