Falcons begin practice with renewed optimism

BOWLING GREEN — Compared to 2019, the opening of training camp Monday at Doyt Perry Stadium was notable for the things that were not happening.

When Bowling Green returned to the field Monday, Falcons coach Scot Loeffler was not yelling himself hoarse almost every play.

There were no questions about who was the first-team quarterback.

Chaos did not occur each time the offense picked up its tempo.

The small tasks like substituting and lining up correctly did not feel like big tasks.

For those who went through last year, the changes to the overall state of practice were palpable — and very welcome.
