BOWLING GREEN — It was the first week of April, and the Bowling Green hockey team faced an uncertain future as its popular coach entered into a courtship with his alma mater.
One night during the standstill, athletic director Bob Moosbrugger picked up his 13-year-old son, Vincent, from travel basketball practice.
The usual parent-teen debriefing began:
How was school today?
“Good.”
How was practice?
“Good.”
Got any homework?
“No.”
Finally, dad put away the tooth extraction kit and got down to the real matter of the day.
