Early Quick Lane Bowl preview: Bowling Green, New Mexico State will meet for first time in program history

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University football team’s trip to its first bowl game in seven years is only a drive away.

The Falcons will make the trip up I-75 to Detroit for its appearance in the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field. Bowling Green (6-6, 5-3 Mid-American Conference) will face New Mexico State (6-6) at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 26. The Quick Lane Bowl will air on ESPN.

Bowling Green last appeared in a bowl in 2015 when the Falcons lost to Georgia Southern in the GoDaddy Bowl. This marks the Falcons’ 14th bowl appearance and first under head coach Scot Loeffler.
