Senior Alex Sorgi, junior Madi McCoy and freshman Madeline Dyer each won awards as the Bowling Green State University softball program recently held its 2019 banquet. McCoy was named the Falcons' Offensive Player of the Year, while Sorgi was voted the team's Defensive Player of the Year and Dyer took home the Meserve Award.
McCoy, a native of Washington, Ill. (Washington H.S.), led the Falcons in multiple offensive categories in her first year with the program, despite battling injuries that forced her to miss several weeks of the season. She hit a team-high .
