Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey goalie Eric Dop and softball pitcher Payton Gottshall.
Picking up two wins between the pipes on the weekend, Eric Dop, a junior from Lewis Center, Ohio, made 42-of-44 saves as BGSU Hockey swept Ferris State over the weekend. Dop allowed the lone Ferris State goal with just over two minutes remaining Friday in a 6-1 win.
