Doege's five touchdowns help Bowling Green outlast EKU

BOWLING GREEN — For the first time in nearly 22 months, Bowling Green has a win on its home field.

The Falcons held off Eastern Kentucky 42-35 on Saturday at Doyt Perry Stadium. Quarterback Jarret Doege threw four touchdown passes and ran for another as the Falcons earned their first win in BG since November, 2016.

BG is now 1-2 on the season.

Eastern Kentucky raced through the Bowling Green defense on both of its first two possessions. Daryl McCleskey capped a 69-yard scoring drive with a 3-yard run on the Colonel’s first possession, and Dakota Allen broke a BG tackle attempt in the backfield on the way to a 1-yard touchdown on their second to go ahead 14-0.
