Despite Racking up 35 Shots on Goal, the Falcons fall to Northern Michigan 3-0

Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Despite outshooting the Wildcats by a 35-23 edge, the Bowling Green hockey team (14-16-2, 12-12-1 WCHA) fell to Western Collegiate Hockey Association foe Northern Michigan (8-17-4, 6-12-3 WCHA) in a 3-0 final Friday night.

The Wildcats capitalized with the man advantage early in the game, as they clinched a 1-0 lead just 6:00 in with a 5-on-3 power play goal. Northern Michigan then extended its lead by a 2-0 margin with a gritty goal down low. A Wildcat fell at the goal line but managed to pass the puck out front and it was skillfully redirected in the slot, to close out the first period with a 2-0 lead.
