In between last season and this one, Bowling Green State University men’s basketball coach Michael Huger issued a simple mandate to his team.
“Coach Huger has let it be known that if you’re not playing defense, you’re not playing this year,” senior guard Samari Curtis said. “So, we’re all just trying to play hard and play for each other.”
It seems like a simple proposition, even in a conference as given to high-scoring games as the Mid-American Conference. But it was one the Falcons struggled mightily with a year ago.
Bowling Green’s 80.3 points per game led the conference, but so too did the 80.
