BOWLING GREEN — Erika Porter scored a career-high 24 points, while Keiryn McGuff and Taya Ellis played stellar defense against Akron standout Reagan Bass as Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team won 70-59 in a Mid-American Conference game on Wednesday at the Stroh Center.
BGSU bounced back from Saturday’s loss at Ball State to improve to 10-5 (4-1 MAC). Akron fell to 6-9 (1-4 MAC).
Porter made 10 of 11 shots from the floor and 4 of 6 free throws in her strong performance. She had 12 points in the third quarter as BGSU used a 24-16 edge in the frame to take a 51-43 lead.
