Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University captain David Konowalski has been named one of 83 nominees for the 2019 Burlsworth Trophy. Named in honor of Brandon Burlsworth, former University of Arkansas walk-on and All-American offensive lineman, the Burlsworth Trophy is given to the most outstanding football player in America who began his career as a walk-on. He is one of seven nominees from the Mid-American Conference.
A sixth-year senior defensive end, Konowalski began at Bowling Green in 2014, redshirting his true freshman season. As a redshirt freshman in 2015, he played six games for the eventual Mid-American Conference champions and earned a scholarship following that campaign.
