Darnold trade leaves former BGSU QB as top option — for now

With the recent Carolina Panthers trade for Sam Darnold, the starting quarterback position for the New York Jets remains open — though probably not for long.

In the meantime, the top option appears to be former Bowling Green QB James Morgan.

A fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Morgan was inactive for every game, but Jets general manager Joe Douglas said Tuesday he's "very excited" about him.

Mike White, a fifth-round pick in 2018 out of Western Kentucky, is the only other quarterback on the roster.
