AMHERST, N.Y. — Five years ago, two future professional running backs eclipsed 250 rushing yards in a single game against Bowling Green.
Buffalo running back Jaret Patterson needed only one half of football to top both.
Patterson ran for 272 yards and five touchdowns in the first half alone in the Bulls’ 49-7 rout of Bowling Green on Friday at UB Stadium, in the process besting the marks set by Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon (253) and Toledo’s Kareem Hunt (265) against BG during the 2014 season.
On the first play of the game, Patterson burst through the Falcons’ defensive front for an 81-yard touchdown run, and that was just the beginning.
