BOWLING GREEN — Two Bowling Green State University hockey freshmen earned weekly recognition from the Central Collegiate Hockey Association on Monday.
Goaltender Christian Stoever and forward Austen Swankler were honored for their performances against Ferris State.
Stoever earned the nod for CCHA goaltender of the week after allowing one goal in 78:48 of ice time between Friday and Saturday’s games. He entered Friday’s contest in the third period and made 11 saves on 11 chances.
He followed that with a career-high 41 saves on 42 chances in BGSU’s win over the Bulldogs on Saturday. He recorded 18 saves in the third period.
