BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University place-kicker Nate Needham was recognized as a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission on Thursday.
The award is given annually to recognize college football’s top place-kicker. Needham, a senior from Chesterton, Ind., is one of 20 semifinalists and one of two Mid-American Conference players recognized, along with Northern Illinois’ John Richardson.
