BOWLING GREEN — Adam Furnas and Jeremy Spezia each were recognized as top performers in the Mid-American Conference after Bowling Green State University baseball’s opening weekend against St. Louis.
Furnas gathered the MAC player of the week honor, while Spezia was recognized as the conference’s co-pitcher of the week, the conference announced Monday.
The infielder Furnas went 8-for-16 at the plate, which included a 4-for-7 effort in BGSU’s 22-8 victory on Friday in Hoover, Ala. Over the three games, Furnas homered, hit two doubles, drove in five runs, and scored six runs. He went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the Falcons’ 5-4 win on Sunday.
