BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University tight end Harold Fannin, Jr., was named to the Associated Press All-America first team Monday.
A 6-foot-4, 230-pound junior from Canton, Fannin is the first BGSU player to make the AP All-America first team since punter Chris Shale in 1990.
Fannin is No. 2 nationally with 1,342 receiving yards and is the country’s top tight end in multiple categories. His single-season yardage total is second all-time among tight ends, and he can set the record with an 11-yard performance in the Falcons’ bowl game.
Previously, Fannin was named to the Walter Camp and the American Football Coaches Association All-America first teams.
