BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University junior defenseman Will Cullen has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year, the conference announced on Thursday.
Cullen shares the conference honor with Bemidji State defenseman Elias Rosen.
In 25 games this season, Cullen has 22 points (6 goals and 16 assists), which is tied for the second-most by a defenseman in the nation. His 0.88 points per game are fourth best nationwide at the position.
This season, Cullen was a two-time WCHA Defensemen of the Month (Dec. 2020 and Jan. 2021), a two-time Defensemen of the Week, and a member of the All-WCHA First Team.
