Bowling Green women's basketball tops Wittenberg in exhibition

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team put on a strong shooting performance in a 102-47 victory Tuesday over Wittenberg in an exhibition game.

The Falcons shot 66 percent (33 of 50) from the field, 55.6 percent (5 of 9) from 3-point range, and 86.1 percent (31 of 36) from the line. They led 25-13 after one quarter and 45-27 at halftime.

“We’re a work in progress,” Bowling Green coach Fred Chmiel said. “That starting unit is a little further ahead of the subs right now, but there was some real promise in the second half, especially on a 28-8 fourth quarter with all of those subs in.
