SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team limited Mercer to just 12 made field goals on the afternoon en route to a 58-39 victory over the Bears in the opening contest of Savannah Hoops Invitational on Wednesday at Enmarket Arena.
The Falcons improved to 3-1 on the season with the win.
Mercer (1-3) shot less than 22 percent (12-for-55) for the game.
Bowling Green continually increased its lead throughout the contest. The Falcons were up 13-7 after the first quarter, 26-13 at halftime, and 44-22 after three quarters.
The Falcons’ Lexi Fleming led all scorers with 14 points plus added a game-high six steals and five assists.
