ANNAPOLIS — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team gave Liberty a challenge on Sunday in the Navy Classic before losing to the Flames 76-72.
Despite losing its fourth straight game, Bowling Green (1-4) came out of the two-day tournament with a couple of close results. George Mason beat the Falcons 77-75 in overtime Saturday.
Liberty (5-1), which led 45-35 at halftime, produced the 500th career win for head coach Carey Green.
Bowling Green outscored the Flames 19-12 in the third quarter, taking the lead with 8:38 to go in the game on a putback by Kenzie Lewis.
