BOWLING GREEN — No observer of Mid-American Conference women's basketball could be surprised that Central Michigan, Buffalo, and Ohio all reside inside the top 90 of NET rankings in mid-January.
The regular contenders are all indeed in the top half of the league standings, and there are few surprises there.
The highest NET ranking in the MAC, however, no one saw coming — save for 22 people in the heart of Wood County.
Bowling Green was picked to finish 11th of 12 teams in the conference's preseason poll, but the Falcons have won as many MAC games in the past month — five — as they had in the previous two seasons combined.
