SAN MARCOS, Texas — Bowling Green women’s basketball never led past the midpoint of the first quarter and was outscored by 17 points in the second half, falling 74-48 at Texas State for its first loss of the season Saturday.
After a 12-12 tie with 3:29 remaining in the first quarter, the Bobcats pulled away and never let the Falcons back in the game. Four Texas State players scored in double figures, led by Ja’Niah Henson’s 18 points.
Amy Velasco scored 12 points for BGSU but shot just 3 of 13 from the field and was the only Falcon to score more than six.
