ERIE, Pa. — Bowling Green State University opened its ice hockey season with a narrow 2-1 win on the road at Mercyhurst on Friday. The Falcons will look to make it two in a row on Saturday back at Mercyhurst Ice Center.
During Friday’s game, BGSU carried a 2-0 lead until just past the midway point of the second period.
Jaden Grant converted an even-strength goal for the Falcons 11:28 into the first, assisted by Breck McKinley and Maxwell Martin.
Then in the second period, Brody Waters scored on a power play that made it 2-0 at 5:07 into the period.
