MINNEAPOLIS — Saturday’s game was a shock to the system for Bowling Green State University’s football program.
Based on performance from their defense alone, the Falcons took seismic leaps in what most determined as a years-long rebuild under head coach Scot Loeffler. How many years? Who knew?
Maybe it’s fewer than originally imagined.
Loeffler and his group smashed the fast-forward button with a 14-10 stunning statement victory over Minnesota at Huntington Bank Stadium on its homecoming weekend. It is Minnesota’s first nonconference loss in 21 games, which was the longest active streak in the country.
“What an unbelievable experience for these young men,” Loeffler said after the game.
